Łukasiewicz Research Network – Wood Technology Institute is the only research institution in Poland which deals in a comprehensive manner with theoretical and practical issues of wood processing, its application and creation of new composites based on wood.

Research and services related to:

• properties of wood, wood-based materials and wood products and lines of their application,
• protection of wood and wood-based materials,
• new and modified wood materials, wood-based materials and other products,
• protection of the environmental and workplace,
• wood waste utilisation,
• wood industry economics, forecasting and marketing,
• certification of wood products, wood-based materials and woodworking machines,
• furniture tests,
• expert`s opinions,
• other individual needs of our customers.

WE HAVE GOT:

• status of notified unit No. 1583 in the field of tasks defined in the Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2011 laying down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products and repealing Council Directive 89/106/EEC and in the scope of Council Directive No. 2006/42/EC (on machinery),
• status of Third Party Certifier No. TPC-19 in the scope of supervision of composite wood product manufacture in respect of formaldehyde release, granted by the California Air Resources Board (CARB),
• Status of Third Party Certifier in the scope of supervision of composite wood product manufacture in respect of formaldehyde release, granted by United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),
• Quality Management System according to ISO 9001:2008 in the area of scientific studies, R&D activities, research services, expert analyses, opinions, consulting and training concerning wood processing and wood composites,
• Testing Laboratory of Wood, Wood-Based Materials, Packaging, Furniture and Constructions accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation (Testing Laboratory Accreditation Certificate No. AB 088) – accreditation by the European Pellet Council for the ENplus Certificate requirements, status of the “DIN CERTCO testing laboratory” authorized to test pellets in accordance with the DINplus certificate,
• Certification Centre of Wood Industry Products accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation (Products Certification Unit Accreditation Certificate No. AC 098),
• status of the coordinator of the Polish Technological Platform for the Forestry and Wood Sector.
